Most caravans are fitted with window catches that secure the window but don’t lock it. As these are the mechanisms that get used as you open and shut the window, it is quite normal for them to break over time due to wear and tear.
If you need to buy a replacement caravan or motorhome window catch, it’s worth noting that they are not interchangeable between manufacturers so you’ll need to know the make of the window so you can purchase a suitable catch.
Caravan window stays are generally supplied in pairs and are fixed at either side of a window to enable you to keep it open. Caravan window locks
In recent years locking handles have been introduced to caravan windows to offer an extra layer of security. If you have a locking handle on your window and need a replacement we can help you out, or if you have Polyplastic caravan windows with catches that don’t currently lock, you can upgrade to their Polylock handles, which can only be unlocked from inside the vehicle. Motorhome window seals
If you have had your motorhome for a while, or have recently invested in a second hand one, you might notice moisture problems inside your vehicle when using a moisture meter. This is generally caused by deterioration of the window seals, which is common with age. The seals can easily be replaced, provided you know the wall width in your motorhome, the make of the window and/or the make and model of your leisure vehicle.
