A hidden hinge

Installing Plastoform windows for campervans
Now that you’ve sourced the campervan windows you need (and the kids are off school for the foreseeable) it’s time to finalise your conversion and set off on your very first trip.
Here is our step-by-step guide for installing windows for campervans:
Choose the place
Choose the spot for your window in the side of your van and mark the outline clearly, double checking that it is the exact size and length of the window you have ordered.
Cut out the frame
Drill some pilot holes around the area that you have chosen and then cut the panel out of the van, using these holes as guidance and taking great care not to hurt yourself on the exposed metal.
Prep the campervan
Sand the cutout area down to smooth out any edges before applying the primer and leaving it to dry. You will then need to add in the adhesive, but the window will need to be fitted before this dries, so make sure you are ready to go as soon as the adhesive is in place.
Install the window
Fit the window into the cutout area and hold it in place until the adhesive has bonded with it. Don’t let go until you are sure that all the sides, edges and corners are fully sealed in place, and then you are all set to hit the road in your brand new campervan.
